Abstract
Objectives:b This study surveyed job stress levels of language therapists and language educators who provide language education or intervention services to children from multicultural families. Moreover, this study investigated the overall levels of stress in two groups in order to find the causes of stress as well as to suggest some possible methods of improving the working conditions.

Methods: Questionnaires were developed based on the previous research and individual interviews, and then revised based on the results of professionals¡¯ validity test and preliminary study. The finalized questionnaires were distributed either directly or via e-mails. A total of 104 questionnaires were collected and analyzed for results using the correlation analysis and t-test.

Results: On average, language therapists and educators feel a mid-level of stress (mean, 3.89), whereas the language therapist and educator groups showed noticeable differences in the overall level of stress. The overall level of stress was significantly related to the number of cases, occupations, and service places.

Conclusion: Language educators and speech-language pathologists felt mid-level stress from administrative paper work, which showed high correlations with work experience, educational experience, number of cases and workplaces. These results indicated that both political consideration and differential support are necessary along with the support plan for parent-related difficulties. Furthermore, both the therapist and instructor groups felt a high level of stress from the evaluation and treatment methods, which imply the need for the development of specific guidelines for evaluation and treatment.
